David Krhon Scholarship

The David Krohn Scholarship is a scholarship in honor of Co-founder David Krohn. This scholarship is for military veterans, spouses and dependents who have shown a love for education and advancement to better the lives of themselves, their families and society at large. David Krohn served as a sergeant in the Illinois National Guard with Battery B of the 2/123rd Field Artillery, Macomb. David was called to active duty, serving in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and served his country honorably..

 
 

David Krhon

David was born on March 12, 1984, in Rock Island, a son of Robert and Deborah Chappell Krohn and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island, IL. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 2002, where his extracurricular activities included basketball, golf and tennis. He also participated in drumlin, jazz, marching and concert bands.


Building through colaboration

David received an Associate’s Degree in Construction Design and Management from Parkland College, Champaign, Ill. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. While at UIC, he served as Vice President of the Veterans Student Association, received the Chancellor’s Student Service Leadership Award and was an active member of the Gamma Kappa Chapter of the Theta Xi Fraternity.

Making a difference

During his time at the University of Illinois David co-founded and served as chief operating officer of the I-S.A.V.E. Foundation, Chicago.
